Uptown constraints other pages do not have
Streetcars, tour traffic, and oak roots that buckle the asphalt all change how a wrecker works. A truck that fits on Veterans in Metairie may not swing a Magazine block at 7 p.m. We plan for that. We also plan for Mardi Gras, bowl weekends, and graduation traffic at Tulane and Loyola, when St. Charles is a special event, not a normal arterial.
Tchoupitoulas warehouse stretches are the opposite: wide, fast, and hard on tires. Those calls look more like industrial flats than Garden District lockouts. Say “Tchoup” versus “Magazine” so we bring a jack or a bed on purpose.
How an Uptown dispatch works
- Call (504) 414-8034 with the avenue, the cross street, and whether a route is closed.
- We quote the published rate and a 30-minute-class ETA, with an honest add if barricades block us.
- We stage legally, walk tools in if needed, then load without crossing tracks the wrong way.
- We drop at an Uptown shop, a Mid-City mechanic, or a driveway you can actually access that night.
Lowered cars and parade lockouts
Uptown has a high density of modified cars. Read how we tow AWD and lowered vehicles and ask for a flatbed. Parade lockouts spike when someone steps onto the neutral ground and the doors click. That is a $65 lockout, not a tow, unless the car also will not start.
